Before his January 2016 brawl with Wizkid at Quilox night club, Dammy Krane was a relatively comfortable B-list act in the music scene.
Six months after the fight, even though it was resolved, his career seems to have slipped into oblivion while Wizkid continues to climb higher and is on the verge of being Nigeria’s first act to break through nternationally.
So what really happened to Dammy Krane? Did the fight rub off on his career negatively?
Dammy Krane lost the battle from the very first minute he sent out this tweet;-
At the time, no one knew what Wizkid stole from him. Then WE figured it out and it even got worse for him.
It climaxed when both stars ran into each other and Wizkid who hasn’t said a word to Dammy Krane on social media reportedly smashed a bottle on his head.
Dammy Krane sustained bruises on his lips, ego and obviously career.
Hence, the move by Dammy Krane which was seen as a desperate ‘publicity stunt’ didn’t quite yield the desired results.
Despite performing at a couple of gigs in Kenya, Ghana and the US, Dammy Krane has not been the same energetic entertainer as he used to be. He doesn’t have any new song topping the charts or even a club banger.
As he prepares for his US tour in August and his return to Nigeria afterwards, he’ll need to keep these wise words in mind, ‘Don’t ever go against the majority when you are just a minority‘
