UPDATES: Tension In Kaduna, Minister of Interior Dambazau Rushes To Trouble Spot

The atmosphere in Zaria, Kaduna State, is charged. Some of Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky led Shiites sect are protesting the action of the Army against them, while a few others are trying to take the law into their hands. Sadly, it was such act of taking law into their hands that led to the situation at hand.

To manage the situation professionally, President Muhammadu Buhari has deployed the Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd) to the state. He arrived Kaduna on Tuesday afternoon to assess the matter on ground and manage the situation to prevent further blood shed.

The minister, who made a brief stop at Gov Nasir El-Rufai office, assured the situation will be resolved.
