ROTIMI AMAECHI SPLITS SENATORS

How can a Senate whose President is already standing trial for corruption have anything contrary to say on the confirmation of Rotimi Amaechi as a minister of the federal republic of Nigeria? Funny!

Thus the Senate seems to be finding ministerial nominee Rotimi Amaechi’s case a hard nut to crack. For the umpteenth time, its Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions could not reach an agreement on him. A few refused but majority of the committee members have said Amaechi is free.

Anyway, the panel chairman, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, said there was no cause for alarm, dismissing all the allegations of a crack in their rank.

The panel, sources said, has been unable to write its report because it could not form a quorum. It has not been able to sit in the past three days despite being asked to hasten action on the petition.

But a source told OluFamous.Com that the panel has already written a one-line report that Amaechi is free to be confirmed as ministers as a case which is in court cannot be discussed by the senate.
