One thing is certain, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu started what is called APC today, he was the first man to visit the president, then General Muhammadu Buhari, after the 2011 election and discussed the idea with him. He didn't stop at that, he mobilized his assets and arsenal for the job before others came on board later.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Lateef Raji, has cautioned his fellow party members that the recent attacks on APC’s National Leader, Asiwaju Tinubu, will lead to the ruin of the ruling party.
Raji said in a statement on Tuesday, June 30, that Tinubu was the pillar of the APC and if he was frustrated out of the party, the APC may not to be together as party in the next election.
The party chieftain stated that the current leadership crisis of the National Assembly and recent developments, are testament that some forces within the party are intent on rubbishing some leaders in the party, especially, Tinubu, whom he says is viewed as a threat.
"It is known to all that the shadow elections that were conducted indicated that certain individuals emerged as preferred candidates of the party but these two members (Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara) decided to go against the will of the party by openly defying the will of the party to contest the offices.
"The decision of the two to team up with opposition political parties will not in any way augur well for smooth running of the Muhammadu Buhari administration as debates, policies and appointments needed for good governance would be stalled thus making the process of delivering on campaign promises tedious.”

“The history behind the merger that later culminated in the APC is well known and well documented. The role played by Tinubu is also known to all. In whatever terms, his contributions cannot be quantified. So, efforts by anyone to rubbish his contributions will spell doom for the fortune of the party if not now but later."
