PDP Candidate slumps, rushed to hospital after defeat by APC

The impact of the wind of CHANGE on the Nigerian political landscape is still being felt across the land. A candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Edo State House of Assembly, has collapsed after hearing of his defeat by the APC candidate in the last Saturday’s election.

The candidate had to be rushed to the hospital to save his life as he could not take his "defeat". He was said to have contested for Edo South constituency seat but lost woefully to the candidate of APC.

Sources in Edo said he is responding to treatment at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH.

This came as Edo State Police Command said it has arrested 21 persons for alleged ballot box snatching and other electoral offences during the March 28 and April 11 general elections.

Meanwhile, the state police spokesman, Joseph Edoigiawerie, who said that the suspects were arrested in Auchi and Iguobazuwa, Ovia South West Local Government Area, added that they will be charged to court after further interrogation.
